Error: "The Requested Site is either Unavailable or Could not be Found" when Trying to Export a Report in EdgeSight.

Symptoms or Error

When trying to export a report to Microsoft Excel, the following error message appears:

“Internet Explorer cannot download ...

Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later.”

This message occurs also with other types of export including CSV, and TIFF

An error might be generated in the Event Viewer:

The error code is 0x80072746.


To resolve this occurrence, complete the following procedure:

  1. On the EdgeSight server running IIS, start IIS Manager, and navigate to Web Sites > Default Web Site > edgesight40:

  1. Right-click rsproxy, select Properties, and click the HTTP Headers tab:

  1. Remove the content appears in the Custom HTTP headers window:

  1. Open a command window and run the IISRESET command.

  2. Perform exports again and it should work appropriately.

  3. If exports still do not work, stop and start the SQL Reporting Services.
