This article details how to troubleshoot AppFlow/Insight Center on NetScaler.

Instructions

Complete the following steps to troubleshoot AppFlow/Insight Center on NetScaler:

  1. For ICA data, icaPorts have to be set up on NetScaler, run the following command from NetScaler CLI:
    set ns param -icaPorts 1494 2598
    You can also configure this from the NetScaler GUI from System > Settings > Change Global System Settings Parameters.

  2. On the NetScaler, verify if AppFlow data is being sent out, by using tcpdump from the CLI shell with the following command:
    nstcpdump.sh -ne | grep 4739
    This can also be confirmed in Insight Center CLI as well as with the following command from shell:
    tcpdump | grep 4739

  3. Ensure that the time on the NetScaler and the Insight Center is correct.

  4. Ensure that the NSIP is used for the NetScaler and not the SNIP.

  5. Ensure that there are no other collectors in the NetScaler for AppFlow.

  6. Ensure that the following ports are configured:

    • TCP ports 80 and 443 for Nitro communication between NetScaler Insight Center and NetScaler(s).

    • TCP port 22 for SSH communication between NetScaler Insight Center and NetScaler(s).

    • UDP port 4739 for AppFlow communication between NetScaler Insight Center and NetScaler(s).

    • ICMP for ping reachability between NetScaler Insight Center and NetScaler(s).
