How To: View ICA file information in NFuse Elite for troubleshooting client connections

In NFuse Classic, in order to view the ICA file received by the client, you could right-click on the application icon and choose "save target as".

In NFuse Elite, this approach will not work. In order to temporarily view the ICA file information rather than letting an ICA connection launch, you can simply change the program associated with .ica extension.

To associate ICA files with Notepad:

Open Windows Explorer.

Click on Tools menu and choose  "Folder Options".

Go to the "File Types" tab and select ICA from the list of extensions.

With ICA selected, click on the "CHANGE" button in the "Details for ICA Extension" area.

In the dialogue that opens up, choose Notepad as the program that you want to use to open ICA files.

Click OK.

Click Close.

When you click on an application icon in the Program Neighborhood CDA, the ICA file information will be displayed in Notepad. Note that it will not be formatted.

To re-associate ICA files with the ICA Client Engine:

Open Windows Explorer.

Click on Tools menu and choose  "Folder Options".

Go to the "File Types" tab and select ICA from the list of extensions.

With ICA selected, click on the "Restore" button in the "Details for ICA Extension" area.

Click close.

The above procedures are for Windows 2000. Changing file associations on other Windows operating systems may vary slightly, but the general process is the same.
